Celebrity Retreat
(Al-Hussein Technical University 2024/2025/2026)
In this project, students were tasked with designing a small-scale retreat for a celebrity, such as an artist, athlete, scientist, poet, or musician. The objective was to create a personalised sanctuary that harmoniously blended the individual’s professional and personal needs into a functional and aesthetically compelling space. The design process began with an in-depth exploration of the celebrity’s lifestyle, preferences, and unique requirements, ensuring that the retreat reflected their character and interests. Students crafted a thoughtfully optimised plan, incorporating spaces for living, working, and relaxation, while considering seamless circulation and efficient storage solutions. The design concept aimed to embody the celebrity’s persona, carefully selecting textures, colours, and furnishings that resonated with their identity. The final deliverables included a comprehensive design proposal, featuring sketches, technical drawings, and 3D models. Students then presented their concepts to a jury, receiving valuable feedback that helped them refine and elevate their designs.
Note: The following content features a selection of works from seven course-sections across two academic years , two of which were co-supervised in collaboration with Dr. NEMEH RIHANI, Dean of the faculty.

Small Scale Dwellings
(American University of Madaba 2022/2023/2024)
In this course, students designed a small-scale residential studio for a renowned individual, such as an artist, athlete, scientist, poet, or musician, integrating their personal and professional needs into a functional and aesthetically pleasing space. The process began with researching the chosen figure’s lifestyle and design preferences to create a meaningful environment. Students developed an optimised layout, incorporating living, working, and recreational areas, while also considering circulation and storage solutions. In this project, students developed a design concept that reflected the individual’s personality, selecting appropriate materials and colours. Emphasis was placed on passive sustainable practices, functional spatial distribution, and landscape design. Deliverables included a design proposal with sketches, mood boards, floor plans, and 3D models. Finally, students presented their designs to a jury, receiving constructive feedback to refine their work.
